Brett teamed with Edward
Brett Rodriguez teamed with Edward Cranmer-Brown as the explosive front-runners for the ’83′s. Brett’s sense of drama in the waning moments could not have been choreographed better: his tying goal in the last few moments of the Dana Cup Semi-Final sent the drama into extra-time and his last-minute telling goal at Newcastle, sent us again into the Semi-Finals!
’83 boys after visit to Edinburgh
The ’83 boys after their visit to Edinburgh, Scotland. Their primary purchase is readily evident. Many of the players look quite at home with their “tam and locks.” Mel Gibson in Braveheart could easily be overtaken!
1986 BU-19 Spokane Skyhawks
The 1986 BU-19 Spokane Skyhawks at the National Monument in Budapest, Hungary. In 1986 soccer travel was still quite new and the Europeans found it a novelty to play the Americans. This team surprised two big Hungarian clubs with draws!
The obligatory team photo
The obligatory team photo with the Hornets of Watford. They buzzed around our hive and walked away with a 3 – 0 victory, but we actually played quite competitively with them, the goal chances always getting away from us.
Team picture of the B-16
The official team picture of the B-16 at the Newcastle United Festival. There was a great sense of accomplishment with our three individual awards while facing the stiffest competition ever with games against Manchester United, Newcastle United, Sunderland AFC, Port Vale FC and Darlington FC. Don’t forget to read the letters from this year’s participants in the LETTERS Section.
